150K in April

Are YOU ready to join Team AADI for Autism Awareness Month?

For AADI, April means many different things for our community. It’s autism awareness month and a time to celebrate 15 years of transforming autistic children’s lives together with YOUR support!

Take on our 150K in April challenge, with each 10 kilometres walked, ran, jogged representing a year of the charity training highly skilled Assistance Dogs since 2010.

Join hundreds of Team AADI members new and returning coming together for autism awareness month to raise vital funds and awareness that can make a world of difference for autistic children across Ireland.

NB: Your selected Team AADI gear (snood or t-shirt) will be processed once you hit the €10 mark! (self donating also counts towards this.)

Every €€€ raised means…

More puppies getting the support they need

From 8 weeks, pups enter the puppy training programme. Funds raised cover vet bills, food, toys, and more!

More Assistance Dogs transforming lives

Our Instructors get to match the perfect dog for every autistic child waiting to receive an Assistance Dog.

More awareness in our communities

So we can work towards our goal of living in an autism friendly and inclusive world for all!

What’s the 150K in April challenge?

The 150K in April challenge for Autism Assistance Dogs is asking our supporters to commit to walking, running, and jogging 150 kilometres over the 30 days in the month of April, aka Autism Awareness Month.

Each #TeamAADI member will commit to fundraising for us during this period to raise vitally needed funds to train our Assistance Dogs for autistic children. Each trained assistance dog provides a lifeline for these children and their families.

When is it taking place?

150K in April takes place from the 1st April to the 30th April 2025.

What is the Facebook Group for?

By joining the Facebook group, you are joining a group of like minded, enthusiastic people who want to take on the challenge but also raise badly needed funds and awareness for Autism Assistance Dogs.

The group will support and encourage you to complete the challenge as well as answer any questions you may have. They are there for you!

What can I get in the welcome pack?

When registering, you can choose: to get a physical tracker sheet for you to log your adventure to 150km in the month of April and also a sponsorship card for accepting cash donations from friends and family.

These welcome packs are processed in 3-5 working days.

How do I get my Team AADI snood/t-shirt?

Register with us and to reserve your snood or t-shirt: https://register.enthuse.com/ps/event/April150K

Upon achieving €10 in donations, you can claim your snood/t-shirt! Our team will begin processing this to you in 3-5 working days.

Can I self-donate to get my Team AADI snood/t-shirt?

To claim your Team AADI t-shirt or snood, you must reach €10+ in donations – if you’d like to self-donate to get your Team AADI gear that is perfectly fine too!

What happens if I don’t complete the challenge?

That’s no problem, we understand that life gets busy and things happen. You can just lodge whatever sponsorship you have raised with us at the end of the month or if you still want to  complete the challenge, you can do this in the following weeks.

What if I don’t raise much money?

We have no minimum or maximum amount that we would like our participants to raise. From our point of view, no matter how much money you raise it will go towards changing the world for autistic children.

Can I start late/early?

Yes, certainly. The Facebook group will be active for the month of March and April so if you start a bit late or early you can still contribute and get the support and encouragement you need to complete the challenge. Just remember to keep your supporters updated on your fundraising page and drop into the group to let them know how you are getting on as well. The majority of participants will be starting on 1st April but we understand that life can be busy and things happen, so feel free to start whenever suits you best!

Do I have to do 150K in April at once?

No, you can start and finish your miles whenever you like! We know people are busy with work, families or may be on holidays. The Facebook group will be active for the month of March and April so if you start a bit late or early you can still contribute and get the support and encouragement you need to complete the challenge.

Can I do another exercise to achieve the 150km target?

Yes, of course. We are promoting this challenge as a walking one but if you would like to jog, swim, run or cycle it instead that’s absolutely no problem. Just be sure and post your progress and updates on the Fundraising page so everyone can cheer you on and we can see how you’re doing too!

Can I walk more than the 150 kilometres in the month?

Of course. Setting a goal of 150 kilometres and exceeding that goal would be fantastic! Many people will walk more than 150 kilometres.

I have another question not answered here?

No problem, feel free to post any questions in the Facebook Group as someone may be able to help. If you would like to contact us directly, please email fundraising@aadi.ie.

I registered for a welcome pack already but it hasn’t arrived yet?

If you are wondering about the location of your fundraising pack, please email fundraising@aadi.ie with your details and we will check it out for you. Please note that packs take 3-5 working days from registration to be sent out.
